Animated rhythms and surprising turns engage the audience and announce the joyful season. Boyd still won 16 games in 1986, and the Red Sox made it to the World Series. I enjoyed Nash’s and Kelsey’s romance so very much. Finding their mates doesn't mean they'll live happily ever after. Sure, the novel is not perfect, and there are areas that could have been cleaned up, but for the most part it is entertaining and enjoyable.
